Product Description:
Hot Lime, scientifically known as calcium oxide (CaO), is proudly provided by the esteemed Changshu Hongyu Calcium Co., Ltd. This exceptional product is renowned for its versatility as an invaluable additive in drilling fluids. Upon contact with water, it transforms into calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2), offering remarkable benefits for clay hydration and dispersion control in drilling processes.2The resultant calcium hydroxide efficiently maintains clay in a state of moderate flocculation during drilling operations. Furthermore, Hot Lime is a reliable source of calcium and alkalinity, optimizing oil-based muds and enhancing drilling performance across various challenging conditions.
In environments prone to moisture or rainfall, opting for calcium hydroxide is advisable over hot lime to avert potential adverse reactions. The heat generated by Hot Lime when interacting with water is advantageous for developing emulsions, particularly in conventional oil mud systems. It reacts proactively with emulsifiers to create calcium soaps, crucial for maintaining alkalinity when drilling amidst acid gases such as carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide.
